Tom Powers

Tom’s introduction to the technical work behind the scenes of The Sudbury Savoyards in 1988 was merely running a lunch-hour errand with David Larrick to pick up some set pieces. Fortunately for the Company, he was completely hooked. Over the years we can credit Tom with roles such as Set Construction Chief, Technical Director, Second Trombone, then Chairman, of the Board of Trustees, Theatre Liaison, Set Designer, Float Builder, Assistant Stage Manager, and even Summer Show Actor, as well as the Founder and Editor of “The Sudbury Savoyards Sandwich Board” newsletter in 1995, the introduction of the official Tech Shirt in 1998, and in 2003 the proposal of the prestigious “Yeomen of Regard” honor. Tom Powers has not only met the criteria, but exceeded it, with his enthusiasm, deep understanding, patience and vision.

1988 Utopia, Ltd.: participated in some way, but not sure how (says he probably forgot to sign in at Tech Day, but he has the certificate to prove it!)
