Virtually Dickens: A Christmas Carol via Zoom

The Sudbury Savoyards and The Wayside Inn presented the Annual Charles Dickens Classic with a 2020 twist – rehearsals and performances were via Zoom.

This virtual performance of the Christmas classic helped to alleviate hunger in 2002 when so many of our neighbors were in need. Ticket prices helped raise money for A Place to Turn in Natick, a foodbank committed to providing emergency food and clothing in the MetroWest community.

Four performances were offered to view online and paired (if desired) with a traditional English dinner to-go from Longfellow’s Wayside Inn: roasted chicken breast with apple and apricot stuffing and tangerine sauce, harvest salad with cranberry vinaigrette, crisp romaine with roasted butternut squash, pecans, and feta cheese, twice-baked potatoes, green beans, rolls, muffins, and finally, candy cane cheesecake (don’t you wish someone had taken a picture of their food!)
