Vice Chair
Laurel joined The Sudbury Savoyards in 2001 as a chorus member in The Sorcerer, after a long theatrical hiatus. Since then she has been involved in every G&S productions (21+), 13 summer shows, and 2 anniversary committees. She is pleased to be part of a company with a long tradition of performing “Gilbert & Sullivan on a Grand Scale.” She realizes this is not the only tradition that makes The Sudbury Savoyards special. The company has a warm, welcoming nature, and she has met her dearest friends through the group. She considers fellow members as part of her theatre family.
Laurel also recognizes that another important facet of being a member of The Sudbury Savoyards is the numerous opportunities to try new things and learn new skills. She has had the opportunity to wear a variety of “hats” during her years with the group: Educational Tour Coordinator, Set Painter, Set Designer, Producer (summer shows), Summer Show Technical Director, Props Coordinator, Ticket Manager, Assistant Stage Director, Stage Crew, chorus and named roles, House Staff, co-Producer (mainshow). She is thrilled to return to the Board of Trustees as Vice-Chair having previously served from 2003-07 and from 2009-11.
