Annual Meeting

The second annual meeting of The Sudbury Savoyards, Inc., took place at 7 pm on Wednesday, June 6 at Our Lady of Fatima Church in Sudbury. Reports on our fiscal status, programs, and the separation from SUMC were presented, followed by an overview of concerns for our sustainability in the future. Reports from the Governance, Audit and Finance, Location, Program, and Communications and Publicity Committees were provided. A discussion of the company’s future followed.

The election of Trustees also took place. New Trustees elected for 3-year terms are Brad Amidon, Mike Lague, and Ellen Simmons. Board members reelected for 2-year terms are Brendon Chetwynd and Karen Powers. Retiring Trustees Paul Baxter and Sue Flint were warmly thanked for their service to the company.

Summer Show - Sherlock Holmes: The Final Adventure - Opens

This summer’s show, Sherlock Holmes: The Final Adventure opens on Friday, July 13 at 8 pm, with additional performances on July 14, 15, 20, and 21 at the Cannon Theatre, 410 Great Road, Littleton, MA. The play, by Steven Dietz, is based on two of Arthur Conan Doyle’s short stories, “A Scandal in Bohemia” and “The Final Problem”. Directed by James Ravan, it is an exciting, fast-paced play brimming with bright flashes of dark energy, full of mystery, adventure, humor, and romance.

The cast includes Julian Willard as Sherlock Holmes, Bob Moore as Dr. Watson, Tom Richardson as Professor Moriarty, Terry Tamm as the King of Bohemia, Alissa Luckey as Irene Adler, David Foster as James Larrabee, Meredith Jones as Madge Larrabee, Frank Harrigan as Sid Prince, and Lillian Fountain and Ellen Simmons as the Ensemble.

Cannon Theatre’s intimate space will keep you close to all the action. Tickets are $25 for adults and $20 for seniors, students, and children.
